Occupancy or motion sensors are devices that turn on or off lighting or other equipment based on presence or absence of people. You can set your sensors to a variety of adjustments based on time of day, lighting outside, etc.
Adding occupancy sensors to your home can also save you energy and money by streamlining your overall electricity usage. Sensors for lighting control are only useful when placed appropriately and in areas that are unobtrusive. This would exclude installing motion sensors in hallways or stairways. Some local utility companies offer rebates when occupancy sensors are installed, then paying for themselves in less than one year. Without rebates they still pay for themselves within two to three years.
If you still have questions or concerns about occupancy sensors for your home or business, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
